Taking Trends Reports to New Heights

The Project

Most annual trend reports tend to be dry and forgettable. In 2013, Moxie set out to change that by transforming their digital trends report into an interactive storytelling experience—one that would entertain as much as it informed.

The final product was an immersive, animated journey that guided viewers “upward” through a whimsical landscape of metaphorical technology. As playful illustrated characters ascended toward the future, users explored the evolving trends shaping the digital world—blending insight, creativity, and delight in equal measure.

The Sequence

The experience was designed as a linear narrative—a story users could scroll or click through at their own pace. Each trend unfolded as part of a seamless sequence, with opportunities to pause and explore topics in greater detail. A retractable navigation bar at the bottom of the screen gave users full control to jump ahead or revisit sections, ensuring both guided storytelling and interactive freedom.
